Workspace Overview

A workspace is your isolated environment on DataNature — a dedicated space with its own compute, storage, and tools. It runs in your cloud of choice as a sovereign data platform.

Open Data Formats

DataNature uses open table formats by default — your data is never locked in:

• Default format — High-performance open table format with schema evolution, hidden partitioning, and time travel
• Optional format — ACID transactions on your data lake with schema enforcement
• Optional format — Upserts and incremental processing for streaming workloads

Bring Your Own Warehouse

DataNature includes DN Warehouse out of the box, but you have the flexibility to bring your own data warehouse too. Connect your existing warehouse via any JDBC-compatible connection and use it alongside (or instead of) DN Warehouse across all your workspace tools.

Deployment Options

DataNature is a sovereign data platform — deploy wherever your data needs to live:

Billing with DNU

DataNature uses DNU (DataNature Units) for billing. Usage is tracked per workspace based on compute, storage, and tool usage. You pay only for what you use — no upfront commitments.

Workspace Administration

Workspace admins can:

• Add users — Invite team members and assign roles (Admin, Developer, Viewer)
• Configure SSO — Integrate with your identity provider via SAML or OpenID Connect
• Manage resources — Monitor and adjust compute and storage allocation
• Connect warehouses — Add your own data warehouse alongside DN Warehouse
